Hot Surface Igniters are fragile ceramic handle only by the mounting bracket. Touching the ceramic element creates hot spots that significantly shorten service life.

🔧 Installation Overview

Q: How do I tell igniter failure from a gas valve failure?

A: If the Hot Surface Igniter glows but gas does not flow, the gas valve is the likely problem. If the igniter does not glow at all, the igniter element or its circuit has failed. For Direct Spark Ignition systems, if you can hear sparking but the burner does not light, check the gas valve and flame sensor.
