❓ Common Questions

Q: Why does the indicator light up when the fuse is blown, not when it is good?

A: The BFA indicator is connected in parallel with the fuse. When the fuse is intact, both ends of the fuse are at the same voltage (very low voltage drop across a good fuse) the indicator sees essentially no voltage and stays off. When the fuse blows, it becomes an open circuit and the full supply voltage appears across the indicator, causing it to illuminate.
