Genuine GE OEM replacement oven ignitor for GE, GE Profile, and GE Caf gas ranges and ovens. GE gas ovens use a flat silicon carbide glo-bar ignitor. The ignitor must reach sufficient amperage to open the gas safety valve a glowing ignitor that does not light the oven is typically a weak ignitor, not a gas valve failure.

❓ Common Questions

Q: My ignitor glows orange but the oven does not light do I need a new ignitor?

A: Yes a glowing ignitor can still be failed. The ignitor must reach approximately 3.23.6 amps to open the gas valve. A weak ignitor glows but does not generate enough heat to open the valve. Measure amperage draw if below spec, replace the ignitor even though it visibly glows.
